Manish Narwal, a celebrated shooter from India, secured a silver medal in the P1 Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 shooting event at the Paris 2024 Paralympics on Friday. Narwal, who is also the elder brother of fellow shooter Shiva Narwal, delivered a commendable performance, finishing with a score of 234.9.

The 22-year-old athlete, who previously won a gold medal in the 50m pistol event at the Tokyo Paralympics, was in a strong position throughout the competition. However, a series of lower scores towards the end allowed South Korea’s Jo Jeongdu to overtake him and claim the gold with a score of 237.4.

Narwal’s silver brings India’s medal count to four at this year’s Para Games. Earlier in the day, Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal excelled in the R2 Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event, earning gold and bronze medals, respectively. Additionally, Preethi Pal added to India’s tally with a bronze in the women’s 100m T35 athletics event.
