India pacer Jasprit Bumrah gave a special send-off to Haris Rauf in the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai on Sunday. India’s star pacer clean bowled Rauf in the 18th over of the game. Bumrah bowled a screaming full-length delivery that snuck behind Rauf’s bat quickly to find the off stump. Rauf struggled to get behind the ball in time and swung his bat wildly to put away the ball but failed in his attempt, adding to Pakistan’s batting woes.
After Rauf’s wicket, Pakistan was nine down at 141 with more than two overs to bat.
IND vs PAK: Rauf gets hit with his own spell
Bumrah was not done by just dismissing Rauf. The otherwise usually composed pacer celebrated the fall with the same “plane crashing” gesture that Rauf did while fielding in the last India vs Pakistan match. Notably, Rauf himself was recently fined 30% of his earnings for taunting the Indian fans with the same celebration in their Super 4 encounter.
Multiple videos from the stands showed Rauf gesturing to a plane crashing down with his hand while stationed at the boundary, alluding to the military conflict between India and Pakistan earlier in the year.
IND vs PAK: Drama at an all time high
Rauf was recently reported to be involved in a verbal altercation with Abhishek Sharma during the Super Fours match. The games between India and Pakistan during this Asia Cup have stirred up controversy due to the ongoing political tensions between the nations.
Pakistan started strong and were at 87 for 1, when their downfall started. From the 13th over, Pakistan kept on losing wickets with each subsequent over. Pakistan lost 7 wickets for 18 runs in the last 5 overs. India’s spin maestro Kuldeep picked up three wickets in his last spell (total 4 wickets). Pakistan wrapped up their first innings with a total of 146/10 at the end of 19 overs.
