IPL 2024 Latest News: Sunrisers Hyderabad is eyeing a major leadership reshuffle ahead of the IPL 2024 season 17 that begins on March 22 later this month. According to latest media reports, Australian star cricketer Pat Cummins, who successfully led the winning side against India in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, is likely to be appointed as the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

A Cricbuzz report says that the SRH management is set to fire Aiden Markram, who was the team’s captain in the last season. The Sunrisers finished IPL 16 on a poor note. They were at the bottom of the IPL 2023 Points Table with just four wins in the 14 matches that they played in the last season. The Sunrisers had broken the bank to buy Cummins during the last IPL auction. At Rs 20.5 crore, Cummins became the second costliest player in the history of the cricket league.

In addition to Cummins, SRH also has two more overseas talents – Travis Head and Wanindu Hasaranga. The team management faces a challenging task in determining their four overseas options. Notably, the franchise has opted for a significant change by parting with Brian Lara as head coach and appointing Vettori as his replacement.
