IPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jumped from third to the top spot in the IPL 2025 points table following a nail-biting 2-run victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Bengaluru. CSK, meanwhile, remain anchored at the bottom in 10th place. RCB’s win also saw Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans each drop one position in the standings.
RCB posted 213/5, thanks in large part to Romario Shepherd’s explosive, record-breaking half-century that took the team from 159/5 at the end of the 18th over to a formidable 213. In response, CSK fought hard, powered by a sensational 94 off 48 balls from 17-year-old opener Ayush Mhatre, but fell just short at 211/5. The likes of Suyash Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Yash Dayal held their nerve in the final overs to seal a dramatic win for RCB.
