Lahore IND Vs PAK Champions Trophy 2025: Amid all the excitement of the India vs Pakistan New York match in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, there’s one more good news for Indian Subcontinent fans. According to a report, the draft schedule of the 2025 Champions Trophy tournament has been submitted to the ICC and the formal announcement will be made soon.
Unless India and Pakistan play against each other in the knockout stage of the T20 World Cup later this month, the Champion Trophy fixture will be the only time when the cricket fans will see the Asian arch-rivals in a tense faceoff. What’s more, the draft schedule of the Champions Trophy suggests all matches to be played in Pakistan only.
Lahore, a prominent city in Pakistan, has been selected as the base camp for India, a Cricbuzz report says. Eight teams will face each other in 15 matches in the tournament, which is tentatively slated for the first half of 2025.
The Cricbuzz report said that the Champions Trophy will be played between February 19 and March 9. So far, there are no inputs regarding the hybrid model that was followed for the Asia Cup. After the objection by the BCCI, all India matches were held in the UAE.
The event will kick off on Wednesday, February 19, in Karachi, with the two semifinals scheduled to take place in Karachi and Rawalpindi. The final of the 2025 Champions Trophy is set for Sunday, March 9, in Lahore. If India qualify for the semi-final, it will also be held in Lahore. However, the BCI requires permission from the Government of India for the team to travel to Pakistan. Hence, unless the Narendra Modi government approves the travel plans, Rohit Sharma & co may see yet another hybrid schedule.
