Ind-Pak Asia Cup Final: Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are set to battle it out in the Asia Cup final after having already played twice in the tournament. The summit clash in Dubai will decide who lifts the coveted trophy. Ahead of the high-voltage encounter, fans across India were seen performing aarti and havan to pray for India’s victory.

The India-Pakistan Asia Cup final will be played today, September 28, at the Dubai International Stadium. This marks the first time in 41 years that the two sides will meet in an Asia Cup final.

A video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by news agency ANI shows devotees performing aarti while holding posters of Indian stars Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill. Another poster features Suryakumar alongside Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha, with the trophy placed between them.

In Patna, Bihar, fans performed a havan at a Shiv temple for Suryakumar Yadav’s success, holding posters of Indian cricketers and cricket bats. One supporter was even spotted wearing a helmet during the ritual.

People in Kanpur also performed a pooja for India’s victory. One of the people said, “This Pooja Paath is for India, for the Indian cricket team. We will win and defeat Pakistan in such a way that they will apologise to us….”

Odisha’s artist Sudarshan Pattnaik created a sand art of Maa Durga to wish Team India ahead of the Asia Cup. 

A video from Gwalior shows supporters chanting ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ ahead of the match. 

India’s opener Abhishek Sharma is on the verge of etching his name in history as the team heads into the high-stakes Asia Cup final against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday. Abhishek has been the standout performer of the tournament, amassing 309 runs at an average of 51.50 with a strike rate of 204.63. His tally includes three consecutive half-centuries in the Super Four stage, with a top score of 75.

He now needs just 11 more runs to break Virat Kohli’s record for the most runs by an Indian in a multi-nation T20I tournament.
