Arsenal football club have been charged by the Football Association for allegedly violating football agents regulations in relation to the transfer of Calum Chambers from Southampton.

In addition to the charges against the Premier League club, agent Alan Middleton has been accused of breaching the regulation in this transfer and has been directed to respond before 17 June, the BBC has reported.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger’s side have until 26 June to respond to the allegation after they requested more time.

Chambers made 36 appearances for the club since his 16million-pound transfer from Southampton.

Arsenal secured a third-place finish in the 2014-15 Premier League season and also retained the FA Cup with a 4-0 win over Aston Villa last month.
