Maharashtra secured 14 medals, including 3 golds, in the diverse range of disciplines featured at the Beach Games. Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and hosts Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Diu & Daman also displayed commendable performances, each securing 12 medals. Assam claimed 8 medals, with an impressive 5 golds.
Lakshadweep Creates History with Gold in Beach Soccer
In a thrilling final, Lakshadweep secured a historic gold medal in Beach Soccer by defeating Maharashtra 5-4. This victory not only added diversity to the medal winners but also emphasized the inclusive and nationwide impact of Diu Beach Games 2024.
Diverse Sporting Excellence Unleashed in Diu from January 4-11
With 1404 athletes under the age of 21 representing 28 states and Union Territories, the Diu Beach Games 2024 became a spectacle of diverse sporting excellence. Athletes showcased their skills in Tug of War, Sea Swimming, Pencak Silat, Mallakhamb, Beach Volleyball, Beach Kabaddi, and the debut event, Beach Boxing.
Strategic Scheduling for Optimal Performance and Viewer Experience
The games were structured into two sessions each day, optimizing athletes’ performances under suitable weather conditions. The Morning Session from 8 am to noon and the Afternoon Session from 3 pm provided a dynamic and engaging viewing experience for the enthusiastic audience.
