ICC Champions Trophy
Importantly, apart from 2025, the ICC Champions Trophy will also held in 2029, even as the T20 World Cp will be held in 2024, 2026, 2028 and 2030. After this year, the next ICC World Cup in 50 overs format will be held in 2027 to be hosted by South Africa and the 2031 World Cup to be co-hosted by India and Bangladesh.
It may be noted that Disney Star has the broadcast rights from 2024 to 207 for all International Cricket Council (ICC) events for the market in India for around $3 billion. Also during the said period, the ICC will organise a number of events including two World Test Championship finals, two T20 World Cups, a Champions Trophy and an ODI World Cup.
World Cup
Same way, the Women’s events will include two T20 World Cups, a World Cup, and a T20 Champions Trophy. In the under-19 category, the ICC will hold two men’s World Cups and a number of women’s T20 World Cups.
However, in case the Guardian’s report proves to be correct the same will have a number of questions, which include – how can team playing ODI World Cup, qualify for the T20 World Cup? Will the ODI format then gradually come to end? Will the bilateral ODI series’ will continue or stop? Last but not the least, What about Afghanistan, which have played so well in the ODI World Cup this year.
