England Test captain Ben Stokes revealed on Wednesday that his home in Castle Eden, North East England, was robbed by masked intruders on October 17 while he was on tour in Pakistan. Stokes shared that his wife and two young children were at home during the incident but were fortunately unharmed.

“A number of masked people burgled my home… They escaped with jewellery, other valuables, and a good deal of personal items,” Stokes posted on X. “Many of those items have real sentimental value for me and my family. They are irreplaceable,” he added.

Stokes noted the emotional impact the incident has had on his family. “By far the worst thing about this crime is that it was carried out whilst my wife and 2 young children were in the house. Thankfully, none of my family came to any physical harm, but it has had an impact on their emotional and mental state,” he wrote.

In a bid to identify the burglars, Stokes released photos of some of the stolen items, clarifying that his primary goal is to find those responsible rather than to retrieve possessions. He also expressed gratitude for the police’s support, saying, “Both now and whilst I was away in Pakistan, their support for my family has been outstanding. They continue to work incredibly hard in trying to find these people.”

The cricket star’s appeal has drawn attention from fans and authorities as investigations continue.
