UP Budget 2020-21 HIGHLIGHTS: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday presented a Rs 5,12,860.72 crore budget for FY 2020-21 in the state assembly. The budget, the size of which is Rs 33,159 crore more than the last year’s budget, has provisions worth Rs 10,967.87 crore for new schemes. State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the budget. As per the budget estimate for 2020-21, total receipts of Rs 5,00,558.53 crore are estimated. This includes Rs 4,22,567.83 crore by way of revenue and Rs 77,990.70 crore by way of capital receipts. Revenue receipts include Rs 3,18,884.17 crore by way of tax revenue share, which includes Rs 1,66,021 crore by way of the state’s own tax revenue and Rs 1,52,863.17 crore by way of the state’s share in the central taxes.

The budget also earmarked Rs 180 crore for setting up a cultural centre in Varanasi and Rs 200 crore for expansion and beautification of Kashi Vishwanath temple.
For development of the pilgrim city Ayodhya as a tourist spot, the budget has earmarked Rs 85 crore and another Rs 10 crore for renovation of Tulsi Smarak Bhawan there.
The state government of Uttar Pradesh has proposed Rs 20 crore for UP Police and forensic institute.
After the Supreme Court's decision on Ram Mandir, the UP government has proposed Rs 500 crore for the Ayodhya airport, which will make it convenient for the tourists to travel to the place.
In the wake of rising cases of cybercrime, the UP government has also proposed Rs 3 crore for cybercrime.
The UP government has proposed Rs 358 crore for Kanpur metro and Rs 200 crore for Gorakhpur metro and metro in other cities.
The Uttar Pradesh government has proposed Rs 5,791 crore for Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
Yogi Adityanath government proposed Rs 2000 crore for Jewar Airport in budget 2020-21.
The government proposed Rs 20,000 crore for Smart City Project in Kanpur, Lucknow and other districts of the state.
The government proposed Rs 2, 000 crore or Ganga Expressway.
The budget proposed Rs 4,000 crore for Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan and Rs 200 crore for Kashi Vishwanath mandir. It also proposed a law university in Prayagraj and Ayush university in Gorakhpur.
This is the fourth budget of the Yogi government. The budget is of size Rs 5,12,860.72 crore.

In last budget, the UP government proposed Rs 247.60 crore for maintenance and construction of gaushalas in rural areas while Rs 200 crore has been sanctioned for Kanha gaushala and destitute cattle shelter scheme in urban areas.
