The Union government on Tuesday launched the Digital Labour Chowk application, which connects workers with employers digitally for transparent and efficient job matching. It also launched a portal for collection of “Building and Other Construction Workers Cess,” a unified digital system for automatic cess calculation, online payment, and real-time monitoring.

During the conference, the ministers also held discussion on the draft Private Placement Agency (Regulation) Act, 2025. The proposed law aims to establish uniform national standards to regulate the currently fragmented placement ecosystem, bringing transparency and accountability to both domestic and overseas recruitment.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment said the Act’s core mechanism is the registration of all private placement agencies, creating a single national register.
