Finance minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday assured India Inc that the government is working to bring the economy back on track and is aiming at at least 6.5% growth next fiscal. Fielding questions from industry captains from domestic and multinational firms at Global CEO Conclave that was held as part of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, Jaitley stressed the government would move ahead with reforms and will keep the fiscal deficit under control in the current fiscal. “The fiscal deficit is more or less under control,” he said in reply to a query by Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman of Bharti Group, on the elbowroom available to the government to unveil measures in the Budget. The exchequer will also earn revenue from sale of spectrum, Jaitley said.
