A glimpse into the life of Zomato delivery agent Pranjoy Borgoyary has captivated millions after a video showcasing his living conditions went viral on Instagram. Borgoyary, who migrated from Northeast India, resides in a cramped room with another person in a Mumbai slum, paying Rs 500 per month as rent.
Shared by Borgoyary himself, the video has amassed over 4.5 million views. It reveals the tight quarters he calls home and his positive spirit. Another aspect of the video that surprised social media users was the fact that despite the hardships, Borgoyary was also taking care of a kitten in the same space. The video’s reach prompted an act of kindness from an anonymous user named Khushi, who paid his rent for three months. In a conversation with HT, Khushi clarified that the Zomato agent never asked for help. “When I saw that he is a Zomato boy pursuing his music career in Mumbai, it looks like a big shift. He moved there to fulfill a dream. So I just wanted to share some money to ensure he doesn’t have to worry about rent,” she told the publication.
Comments flooded in, praising Borgoyary’s work ethic and expressing hope for improved living conditions. The video also sparked a broader conversation about Mumbai’s high cost of living and the financial struggles faced by many residents.
Borgoyary’s story goes beyond cramped living conditions. He battles health issues that strain his family’s resources, yet he remains passionate about his dreams. An aspiring singer and footballer, he shares music covers online, displaying his determination and talent. Encouraged by social media users, some even suggested he try modelling, comparing him to K-pop stars.
