Good news for the State Bank of India (SBI) customers. Now they don’t need to go an ATM for getting a mini statement of their account or for balance enquiry. Their mobile is enough for doing this job as the bank has come out with SBI Quick, a new solution for this purpose.
In one of its latest social media posts, SBI says, “Why waste time and paper printing a mini statement at the ATM? Download SBI Quick to get them free on your registered mobile with a missed call.”
SBI Quick – Missed Call Banking – is a new service from the State Bank of India which involves banking by giving a missed call or sending an SMS with pre-defined keywords to pre-defined mobile numbers. This service, however. can only be activated for the mobile number that is registered for a particular account with the bank.
The Services include:
1. Balance Enquiry
2. Mini Statement
3. Blocking of ATM Card
4. Car and Home Loan Enquiry
Here’s all you need to know about SBI Quick:
1. What if I have two account numbers with the bank with the same mobile number mentioned on both?
You can register one mobile number for any one of the accounts. If you want to change the mapped account number, you first need to de-register SBI Quick from the first account and then register for the second one.
2. Is it mandatory that the mobile number to be used for SBI Quick has to be registered with the bank for that particular account?
Yes. If not done, visit the home branch and update your mobile number.
3. Is it available for all types of accounts?
SBI Quick is currently available for SB/CA/OD/CC accounts.
4. How is this facility different from State Bank Anywhere or State Bank Freedom?
There are 2 distinct differences:
a) You don’t need a Login ID, Password to use this facility. Just one time registration from the mobile number recorded with the bank for that particular Account.
b) SBI Quick only provides Enquiry and ATM Block services. Unlike State Bank Anywhere or State Bank Freedom, there are no transaction services available.
5. Is there any limit of the number of enquiries that can be made in a day/month?
As of now, it is unlimited.
6. What are the charges for this service?
a) The service is currently free of charge from the bank.
b) A call for balance inquiry or mini statement will include an IVR message of 4 seconds which will be heard after 3-4 rings. If you disconnect the call while ringing, no charge will be recovered from you by the service provider. If you keep the call active till the IVR is played, you will be charged for these 3-4 seconds as per their mobile tariff plan.
c) Any SMS sent to 567676 e.g. for Blocking ATM Card, will be charged at premium rates by your service provider.
d) Similarly, for availing the benefits of this functionality by sending an SMS (as BAL, MSTMT, REG, DREG, CAR, HOME, HELP), you will be charged for SMS as per their mobile tariff plan.
