The shares of Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle (CV) business, which will henceforth be known as Tata Motors, listed at Rs 330.25 per share on the BSE on Wednesday, marking a 26.1% premium over the discovered price of Rs 261.90.
Following the demerger of Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle business from its passenger vehicle segment, the shares of the passenger vehicle entity were discovered at Rs 399 per share on the BSE on October 14, the ex-demerger date.
At the close of Wednesday’s session, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles (TMCV) shares slipped 0.79% from the listing price to Rs 327.65. The company’s market capitalisation at the end of its debut day stood at Rs 1.21 lakh crore.
Meanwhile, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) shares declined 1.28% to Rs 402.30 on the BSE, valuing the company at Rs 1.48 lakh crore.
Post demerger, the combined market value of TMPV and TMCV rose 10% compared with the pre-demerger valuation (October 13), adding nearly Rs 25,426 crore in investor wealth, effectively unlocking significant value for shareholders.
