The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will conduct mock trading sessions on Saturday from its Disaster Recovery site. Live trading sessions are also scheduled from September 30 to October 3 at the same location, according to a circular released on Friday.
“The National Stock Exchange will be conducting trading sessions (Mock & Live) from its Disaster Recovery (DR) site on September 28, 2024 (mock trading) and September 30 to October 01, 2024 (Live trading),” it said in the release.
The exchange also noted, “Members are requested to note that the Exchange Contingency Tests shall be carried out between 12:00 PM and 01:00 PM during the mock trading session on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Members are requested to plan their activities accordingly.”
This will mark the third special live trading session for the NSE this year. The first session took place on March 2 without any issues, ending at a record closing level. The second session was held on May 18, which saw a lacklustre trading performance.
These special sessions are designed to test the preparedness of the exchange in the event of unexpected occurrences during regular trading hours. In case of emergencies, such as a security breach, market operations can be temporarily moved to the disaster recovery site to ensure continuity.
