A look at Nifty’s journey since inception
Earlier, the Nifty 50 hit the 21,000 levels for the first time in December 2023. It had scaled the journey between 20,000-21,000 in just 61 sessions between September to December 2023. The Nifty had started its journey at a base value of 1,000 in November 1995 and rallied to 20,000, 27 years after its inception in 2023.
It had scaled the 5,000 mark in May 2008, and the 10,000 mark was covered in July 2017. The post-COVID surge saw the Index scale past the 15,000 mark in 2021, and the rest, as they say, is history.
