Petrol, Diesel Price Today 3 October 2024: Despite escalating tensions in the Middle East, the oil industry and markets have presented a subdued response. According to the latest report, the global oil benchmark Brent crude was up by 5%, followed by an attack by Iran, a major oil producer and also a member of OPEC, on Israel. The attack was in retaliation for Israel’s offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon. The Brent prices were at $73.56, an increase of 2,6% while oil futures also saw a rise of about 30 cents.

Iran on Wednesday announced its missile strikes on Israel to be over. It also warned that any counterattack by Israel would trigger massive destruction. Experts while talking to Reuters mentioned that any attack on Iran’s oil infrastructure can lead to a counter-strike by Tehran on Saudi oil facilities. Any action like this can result in the rise of oil prices.
