The guide has been developed for the third year jointly by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, through Segittur and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, under the umbrella of the Center Knowledge, Intelligence and Innovation (Intelitur). This year it incorporates a selection of applications for ‘smartwatch’ with 29 apps including applications that are related to flight bookings, accommodation and destination.
The new age tourist is digital, hyper connected, has multi-channel access, and uses all sorts of applications for organising the trip. The Indian tourist has evolved as a consumer and each day more tourists plan their own trip using all digital mediums and resources available. This is one of the keys of the smart tourist destinations. The guide can be downloaded from Segittur and Intelitur’s websites.
The transportation section offers a selection of apps linked to airlines, airports, trains or flight seekers. In accommodation section, the user you can find applications to search for hotels, campsites and rural accommodation. Whereas, in the entertainment and dining section, a collection of applications to find and book restaurants, tickets, theme parks, amusement parks or discounts is included. Adventure tourism section consists of applications for skiing, hiking, scuba diving or sailing, among other sports. It also includes applications to discover attractions of different autonomous communities and major domestic destinations.
This year’s edition also includes a section of useful applications which include currency converters, translators, suitcase organisers or expense managers.
