The festival showcased Rajasthan’s numerous attractions and offerings through events held across the “Pink City of India”. The events included International Festival of Short Films on Culture and Tourism; Army Pagaent by Indian Army; Camel Tattoo Show; Run for Rajasthan; Bhartiya Kushti; Dastangoi; Bhajans and Qawwali; performances by artists such as Saleem-Sulaiman, Bhanwari Devi and Arijit Singh.
Speaking to FE Online, Shailendra Agarwal, principal secretary, tourism art and culture, Government of Rajasthan, said, “Rajasthan has ben a prime tourist attraction for over 40 years now. The objective behind organising Rajasthan Festival is break the traditional image of Rajasthan in minds of tourists, which is limited to forts, palaces and deserts. We are highlighting Rajasthan’s lesser known offerings by showcasing them through various events.”
