The Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, has officially unveiled its announcement teaser, offering audiences a grand first look at the epic saga. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as the mighty Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, the film promises a larger-than-life retelling of the classic.

The cinematic spectacle will be released in two parts, with Part 1 slated for 2026 and Part 2 in 2027. Adding to the film’s global scale is a first-of-its-kind musical collaboration between Oscar winner Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.

The teaser showcases glimpses of Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama drawing his bow and climbing a tree, while Yash makes a striking impression as Ravana.

While the teaser has generated massive excitement across social media platforms, it has also sparked mixed reactions.

One user, @sanjeetdadwal, criticised the visual effects, stating: “VFX killed everything in my opinion. There are people like me who don’t like fake beauty in the name of makeup… Best acting with best music is all we need.”

Another user, @Diveshrewatkar2, drew comparisons to Brahmastra: “No direct shots from movie… giving Brahmastra vibes (loved that movie)… big expectations.”

User @Aishworryyaa took a dig at the credits, writing, “I thought Valmiki wrote Ramayan? Who is this Sridhar Raghavan and why is he stealing credits?”

A user with the handle name @ShettyTrader said, “At last, our history is being portrayed with the respect and truth it deserves. Grateful to be in safe hands.”
