Period drama Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandana has crossed box office collection of Rs 165 crore in a span of five days. The film might become the highest grossing film for Kaushal. The film took the box office by a storm on its opening weekend. It also set a record for the highest first Tuesday by earning Rs 25.35 crores.
According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the first Wednesday grossed Rs 32 crore for the film. The overall occupancy rate for Maratha film was nearly 41.5% for Hindi audiences on Day 5 with an average of 40% on Day 6.
The Goa government has announced that Hindi movie “Chhaava”, based on the life of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji, will be tax-free in the state. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant made the announcement on Wednesday evening in a post on X. The sacrifice of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is an inspiration for people, he said.
Mumbai reigns as the leading audience of Chhaava complementing Vicky Kaushal’s portrayal of Chhatrapati Shivaji’s son. Moreover, these numbers are expected to grow with the upcoming Shivaji Jayanti holiday in some regions. The FWICE had urged CM Fadnavis to grant the film tax exemption in a letter submitted on Tuesday.
