Duranga 2 Review: You must have heard several times that sequels fail to live up to the expectations of the audience, however, this has been proven false with Duranga 2. Following the hype and success of Season 1, the new season is packed with suspense, unexpected twists and turns, and powerful performances by Amit Sadh, Gulshan Devaiah, and Drashti Dhami – the three lead characters.

Duranga Season 2, which was released on Zee 5, kept me intrigued from its first scene to the last. Directed by Rohan Sippy, Duranga 2 starts from where it left off in Season 1 – Ira Patel (Drashti Dhami) is making peace with reality and is coming to terms with her husband Abhishek Banne’s (Gulshan Devaiah) actions and identity. Just when the audience thinks, things are getting normal and better, they are introduced to the real Sammit Patel (Amit Sadh). He is seen waking up from a coma after more than a decade. The moment you’ll see him, you’ll be excited to know what happens next. Duranga 2 unravels the mystery around Abhishek Banne’s father, his brutal murders, and his accomplice.  As a viewer, I had the urge to uncover the intent and save people from a psychopath killer. Duranga 2 has ensured that the audience gets involved with the story.

This is Amit Sadh’s one of the best performances so far. He will make you hate him but will force you to have empathy for the character at various places. Gulshan Devaiah and Drashti Dhami also shine bright and deliver a nuanced performance. The writing and direction are also on point.

Verdict

Duranga 2 will not just keep you on the edge of your seat but you ensure that you become a part of the thriller – This only happens when the performance, direction, and writing are crisp and precise. Without revealing much, the climax is not for the weak-hearted. Duranga 2 is a must-watch.
