The initial reception of Sidharth Malhotra’s film ‘Yodha’ at the Box office was pretty lukewarm. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the directorial venture by Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, featuring Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna alongside Malhotra, garnered Rs 4.25 crore. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, ‘Yodha’ recorded an overall occupancy of 13.86 percent on its opening day.

In specific regions, the movie witnessed a 15.5 percent occupancy in Mumbai across 589 shows and a 14.25 percent occupancy in Delhi-NCR with 693 shows. Competing with ,’Yodha’, ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story’ fell short, managing only Rs 50 lakh in earnings. Additionally, ‘Yodha’ faces tough competition from Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shaitaan’, which has surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark globally.

Sidharth Malhotra’s previous box office successes date back to 2016 with ‘Kapoor & Sons’, which earned Rs 73.29 crore. Since then, his theatrical releases have struggled, including 2022’s ‘Thank God’, which grossed only Rs 34.89 crore, and 2019’s ‘Marjaavaan’ and ‘Jabariya Jodi’, earning Rs 47.78 crore and Rs 16.33 crore respectively. Similarly, his 2018 film ‘Aiyaary’ collected Rs 18.22 crore.

Despite this, Malhotra received critical acclaim for his 2021 digital release ‘Shershaah’. His digital debut occurred earlier this year with Rohit Shetty’s ‘Indian Police Force’.
