Dolly Parton health update: Music icon Dolly Parton is known for penning the timeless song ‘I Will Always Love You’. The ‘Jolene’ singer, however, has been keeping ill for some time. Amid her concert postponements due to sudden medical procedures, her sister, Freida Parton, took to social media and urged her fans to pray for Dolly’s recovery.
Writing in a Facebook post, Freida shared that he had been up all night “praying for her sister”. She revealed, “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.” Furthermore, she affirmed that Dolly’s “strong” and “loved”, with “all the prayers being lifted for her.”
Appearing virtually for a Dollywood event, Dolly Parton explained that the doctors had found a kidney stone “that had caused an infection,” and advised her not to travel. This year has been hard for the 79-year-old artist as she lost her husband, Carl Thomas, in March.
‘Time for my 100,000-mile check-up’
This comes days after the ‘Love Is A Like’ singer postponed her show in Las Vegas on September 28. Announcing the development via a social media post, Parton had written, “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.” Parton also had six performances scheduled at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace at the end of this year.
In her post she joked that it would have been time for her “100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon.” In the end, she revealed that she has been able to rehearse and put the show together,
“I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” Parton said.
She continued, “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.” While Parton carries on her projects from Nashville, she assured that she needed time to “get show ready”. In her true element, she wrote, “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”
