Power couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are once again in the spotlight these days for their recent appearance at Wimbledon 2025. Photographs of the couple from the prestigious tennis tournament quickly went viral. While the memes are still coming in, the cricketer revealed why it took Anushka and him 10 years to attend the tournament again.

Speaking to Star Sports, the Indian cricket star fondly recalled their first visit to Wimbledon in 2015, when he and Anushka were still dating. That public appearance was their first on an international stage, and made headlines nearly a decade ago. Reflecting on it, Kohli described the experience as “very, very special.”

Grateful for the reception they received, Kohli thanked the Wimbledon organisers for the warm welcome extended to him and Anushka, now his wife. “It felt great to be back,” he said, emphasising how meaningful it was for the two to share the moment together once again.

The couple, known for maintaining a low profile despite their stardom, had always hoped to return to the famed tennis championship. However, packed professional schedules made it difficult. “Now we have a bit of time on our hands, and here we are again,” Kohli said, hinting at a more relaxed phase in both their lives.

While Kohli continues to remain one of cricket’s most iconic figures, the Royal Challengers Bangalore batter, in earlier interviews, admitted he’s unsure about what he is going to do post retirement from cricket. What he does know for certain, however, is that travelling with Anushka will be a key part of it. Their latest trip to Wimbledon seems to be one such moment on that personal itinerary.

Kohli’s IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, recently won the IPL 2025 title, marking their first victory in 18 years, leading to celebrations across the country.
