While the jury is still out on whether Choi Hyun Wook will “wake up” for a much-wished-for cameo in Weak Hero Class 2, the rising K-drama star has reportedly already booked a new project. Last seen in tvN’s My Dearest Nemesis, which concluded its 12-episode-run on March 24, the Hallyu star in his early 20s is poised to make his drama comeback with Delusion.
Choi Hyun Wook is expected to co-star alongside K-drama favourites and Start-Up co-stars Suzy and Kim Seon Ho in the fantasy mystery period drama, according to South Korean media outlet OSEN. The upcoming series set during the Japanese colonial era continues the K-drama’s raging obsession with adapting popular web toons. The Weak Hero Class 1 star has reportedly been cast in a major role.

Since his 2019 debut with the web drama Real:Time:Love, Choi’s stellar expansive K-drama filmography includes hits like SBS dramas Taxi Driver and Racket Boys, Netflix’s DP Season 2, tvN’s Twenty-Five Twenty-One and U+ Mobile TV’s High Cookie.
He most recently starred in My Dearest Nemesis alongside Moon Ga Young. Prior to his role as a young boss in the tvN romantic comedy, Hyun Wook’s heartthrob status skyrocketed in 2022 as An Su Ho in Weak Hero Class 1. Shortly after that he continued winning hearts as Ha Yi Chan in Twinkling Watermelon. As far as more casting reports go, Choi Hyun Wook is also preparing his transformation into a Korean literature student in The Boy in the Last Row. So far, veteran actors Choi Min Sik and Moon So Ri are attached to the 2026 Netflix drama.
What we know about Delusion drama
Director Han Jae Rim, who was behind Netflix’s original series The 8 Show, starring Ryu Jun Yeol and Chun Woo Hee, will be helming the upcoming Delusion K-drama.
According to previous K-casting reveals, Suzy is set to play the charismatic female vampire while Kim Seon Ho will step into the shoes of an unsung artist who is commissioned to paint her portrait.
