Although South Korean entertainment company HYBE has emerged as a leading presence in the K-pop scene since its 2021 rebranding and expansion upon acquiring several sub-labels, BTS continues to hold onto its firm position as the biggest contributor to the company’s fame and profits. The month of June has always been a special marker for the boy group owing to onset of its debut anniversary celebrations. This year, these festivities will be turned up a notch as RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook finally find their way back to each other after a prolonged band hiatus.

In June 2022, the pop juggernaut dropped a bombshell announcement, confirming an impending indefinite hiatus until the conclusion of all seven members’ mandatory military obligations. While Jin and J-Hope already returned to the musical world last year, RM and V are set to reunite with them on June 10, followed by Jimin and Jungkook’s anticipated return the next day. Finally, Suga will be back on June 21, i.e. a week after the K-pop group’s June 13 anniversary extravaganza.

HYBE building lights up with clear BTS message amid FESTA

BTS ARMYs have continued to drop numbers off the long-running countdown to the group’s reunion day. Amplifying their hype about their favourites’ comeback, HYBE jumped on the bandwagon by pulling off a very telling gesture. Emphasising the group’s massive global appeal, the HYBE building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul underwent a major makeover this past week. According to now-viral photos of the company headquarters circulating online, the entertainment-lifestyle giant has plastered the words “WE ARE BACK,” using the trademark BTS-ARMY logos, on its exterior wall.

Fans of the sensational septet can’t have enough of the view while they are already busy churning plans for the upcoming BTS 12th anniversary and BTS FESTA celebrations. The added anticipation of the group’s desperately awaited reunion has further fired up all expectations and hopes. “Omg HYBE building view at daylight ‘⟭⟬E ARE B⟬⟭CK’ even more beautiful,” a BTS-lover wrote on X.

By pulling off this head-turning gesture, HYBE has kept up a long-running tradition of displaying such BTS-themed messages on its building each year around the time of the band’s anniversary. In 2024, fans caught sight of the Korean slang “APOBANGPO,” which means “ARMY forever, Bangtan forever.” And the year before that, “BTS PRESENTS EVERYWHERE” stole the show. These sightings are regarded as an additional celebratory sign of the commencement of the BTS FESTA. As a result, fans can expect to see the proud message on the HYBE building every day until the month’s end.

HYBE stock price soars amid BTS reunion news

Beyond the trending phenomenon, BTS’ agency also witnessed a sudden boom of its stock price. K-media reports dated June 9 indicated that as of 9:50 AM KST on Monday, HYBE stock was trading at 302,000 won, which marked a whopping 6% rise compared to Thursday.

The company’s BTS-related upward graph has been back on track since the beginning of the month. On June 2, HYBE closed at 272,000 won, which was up about 2% from the previous day. June 4th and 5th similarly embraced the trend with stock surging about 4% and 2%, respectively. This sudden shift comes as no shock given BTS’ impactful sway and undeniable role in laying the company’s foundation, which was originally known as Big Hit Entertainment prior to its powerhouse evolution.

With the upcoming BTS reunion being just in time for their 12 anniversary, all pieces are finally fitting together. Consequently, K-pop enthusiasts’ eyes are peeled for a full group comeback in the near future — possibly late 2025, or even next year.
