Priyanka Chopra’s split-second appearance in the recently released Baywatch trailer may have gotten eye rolls from her fans, but the actress seems to have one faithful follower – model-turned-actress Poonam Pandey. The actress, who is vacationing in the Maldives, shared a video of herself on YouTube earlier this week, apparently inspired by Priyanka’s role in the flick. The video, titled Baywatch With Poonam Pandey, is a two-minute clip that features Poonam wreathing around the beach, wearing a red bikini and gold pendant.

“Was always a big Baywatch fan Got inspired looking at it and created my own version of Baywatch my style. Let me know in the comments below what do guys think of it,” the actress, who made her Teugu film debute last year, wrote. Jimi Jamison’s I’m Always Here, which was the theme song for the original Baywatch TV series, is featured in Poonam’s video as well.
Of course, while Poonam looks stunning in the video, it’s hard to figure out what Priyanka Chopra’s appearance in the Baywatch trailer inspired it? Far from running around in a bikini on a beach, Priyanka’s (fully clad) character Victoria Leeds is clearly inside a building (drinking a class of wine at that). Poonam’s outfit actually matches Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach’s red bikini’s in the Baywatch poster. Curiously, in the same poster, Priyanka is wearing a white ensemble, so Poonam’s video still makes very little sense. Given that the Baywatch trailer was just released last week and has been making a buzz ever since, is Poonam’s so-called recreation just an attempt to cash in on Priyanka’s Hollywood debut? Baywatch, which stars Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, will be released in July next year.
