Thamma vs Dude Box Office Collection: Ayushmann Khurrana‘s latest horror comedy has not failed to disappoint. Another feather in the Maddock universe cap, Thamma quickly climbed through the charts and became the biggest opener in the horror-comedy franchise after Stree 2. Also starring Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, fans are loving the witty banter and social media references laced throughout the film.

However, Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude is not that far behind. Coming in strong as one of the biggest Tamil hits of 2025, Dude has maintained a steady run for nearly two weeks. The Keerthiswaran directorial also gave stiff competition to Dhruv Vikram’s sports-drama, Bison Kaalamaadan.

Since its release on Diwali 2025, Thamma has had a blockbuster week. After a Rs 24 crore opening day, Thamma managed to stay above the Rs 10 crore mark till its first weekend. Riding the festive bandwagon, Thamma grossed Rs 18.6 crore on its first Wednesday and Rs 13 crore on the following day, according to Sacnilk.

Entering its first weekend after a Rs 10 crore Friday, the Ayushmann Khurrana-Rashmika Mandanna horror-comedy made more than Rs 25 crore on its first weekend. Counting its mid-week collection of nearly Rs 10 crore, Thamma’s domestic box office collection crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. Globally, Thamma touched Rs 130 crore in its first week.

Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude became another one of his Rs 100 crore hits after a Rs 27.4 overseas collection in 11 days. Winning hearts of the Tamil audiences, Dude has comfortably made a lasting impact for itself. The romantic drama started off with a modest opening day of Rs 9.75 crore. Seeing a slight jump of 6.6%, collections touched the Rs 10 crore mark, leading to a streak till Monday. After collecting Rs 30 crore over these days, the first week’s collections crossed the Rs 55 crore mark.

Overall, after single-digit numbers in its second week, Dude’s box office collection on Day 12 touched Rs 68 crore. While the verdict is clear, Thamma is the big winner out of the two. But it is important to see how Bollywood’s latest horror-comedy does in its second week as festivities fade.
