Thamma Box Office Collection Day 2: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s latest horror-comedy, Thamma, is making huge waves at the box office. The newest addition to Maddock Films’ blockbuster format, Thamma has became the production house’s biggest opener after Stree 2. Going viral for its social media references and songs, Thamma also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in one of his most eccentric roles of a blood-drinking vampire.
Playing the character of Alok Gupta, Ayushmann Khurrana is seen doing a “lot of action” in the film. Jumping from cliffs and being chased by supernatural beings is just a small part of the film.
Thamma Collection Day 2: Box office update
With an opening day of Rs 24 crore after its Diwali 2025 release, Thamma won hearts across its Hindi audiences in healthy occupancy rates. On Day 2, the first Wednesday , the Ayushmann-Rashmika horror-comedy grossed Rs 18 crore, cashing in on the Diwali holiday week. After achieving Rs 10 crore in day zero collections, the domestic net collection grew to Rs 42 crore as it neared the Rs 50 crore mark.
Despite high net collections, there was a significant dip in occupancy across Indian theatres. From nearly 35% on its opening day, Thamma in Hindi has an overall nearly 26% occupancy. However, the film picked up during evening and night shows.
There were over 1000 shows scheduled in Mumbai and NCR, which fared nearly 25% occupancy. With more than 600 shows in Ahmedabad, Thamma filled more than 34% seats, while Pune managed to seat only 21% across the 487 shows.
Similar trends were observed in Lucknow, Jaipur, Bhopal, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Thamma in Hindi wasn’t so popular in Chandigarh, Surat, Kolkata, or Hyderabad.
After seeing a jump of nearly Rs 20 crore in its collections, Thamma entered Ayushmann Khurrana’s top 10 highest-grossing films. It ranked just below Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan, while the list remains topped by Dream Girl. Similarly, for Rashmika, Thamma became her sixth biggest film so far, while the second-highest grosser for Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
