Thamma Box Office Collection Day 1: Maddock Films’ latest entrant to its horror-comedy universe, Thamma, has started strong on the big screen. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal, the film released on October 21 during Diwali 2025 extended weekend and was estimated to have a big opening day.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the early estimates indicated that the Thamma box office collection on its first day was Rs 24 crore. The advance booking report revealed that the horror-comedy received more than Rs 10 crore across main regions, including booked seats. The positive response from fans made it the second-biggest opener in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, only behind Stree 2.
Thamma Box Office Day 1: Occupancy downtrend
Despite being among the top five biggest Bollywood openings of 2025, the occupancy rates for Thamma’s festive release seemed low. With an overall occupancy of 34.5% across urban regions, the film picked up after noon.
Combining horror, humour, and social messages, Thamma had over 2000 shows scheduled in Delhi NCR and Mumbai alone. The metro cities reported a healthy occupancy rate of more than 33%, while Bengaluru and Chennai also reported high numbers. Thamma in Telugu remained popular among audiences in Hyderabad, with over 100 screenings in the city.
Thamma Box Office Day 1: Ayushmann Khurrana’s biggest opener
Thamma became Ayushmann Khurrana‘s career-best opening day, while it ranked second after Animal (2023) for Rashmika Mandanna. It is in the race to become the actors’ top movies of all time. For Khurrana, Dream Girl tops the chart, and Thamma is set to enter the top 10 over the first week once it crossed Rs 34 crore. Second on the list is Badhaai Ho (Rs 137.31 crore), followed by Bala (Rs 116.38 crore).
The leading south superstar actress, Rashmika Mandanna‘s biggest movie is Pushpa 2, with a Rs 812 crore blockbuster status. Starring opposite Vicky Kaushal in Chhaava, the patriotic movie comes second.
