Tanu Weds Manu Returns box office collections, Rs 108.12 crore in domestic markets and Rs 144.36 crore when the global take is added, has put Kangana Ranaut on top of the world, almost.
The best part for Kangana Ranaut, and Tanu Weds Manu Returns, is that the film, which received fulsome praise from both the critics and the audiences, is still doing brisk business – this may well have to do with the fact that there is virtually no competition in theatres with ‘Karachi’ having fallen into an abyss on release.

In this box office collections report, we take a look at the second weekend collections of Tanu Weds Manu Returns while comparing them to that of previously released films. Interestingly, when compared to films that released in 2015, Tanu Weds Manu Returns ranks as the highest Second Weekend grosser collecting Rs 28.3 crore, beating other big ticket releases like Amitabh Bachchan starrer Piku and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Baby’ and ‘Gabbar Is Back’, and others.

On the other hand when compared to films that released before 2015, Tanu Weds Manu Returns comes in fifth, preceded by releases like the massive Aamir Khan starrer ‘PK’, or the equally compelling Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Krrish 3’, Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’ and Salman Khan starrer ‘Kick’.
As you can see, there is no Shahrukh Khan in the equation. Go figure!
