Actor Sonu Sood’s wife, Sonali Sood, and her sister, Sumita Salve, were injured in a car accident on the Mumbai-Nagpur highway late Monday night. The incident occurred near the Wardha Road flyover in the Sonegaon police station area when their car crashed into a stationary truck.
Sonali, 54, was traveling with her nephew, who was driving the vehicle, and other relatives. They were returning home from Nagpur airport when the accident took place. According to Dr. Abhijeet Bhatkulkar of Max Hospital, Sonali sustained injuries but is currently stable and receiving medical treatment. Her sister, Sumita, 55, suffered minor wounds. Fortunately, the airbags deployed, preventing more severe injuries.
Sonu Sood provided an update on his wife’s condition, stating, “She’s doing fine now. Had a miraculous escape. Om Sai Ram,” in a statement to India Today.
Sonali and Sonu Sood’s love story dates back to their college days in Nagpur, where they first met. After years of dating, the couple got married on September 25, 1996. They have two sons, and Sonali, who prefers to stay away from the limelight, is rarely seen at public events.
