Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya’s upcoming film Sky Force is set to release on January 24, aiming to capitalize on the Republic Day weekend. In the film, both actors portray Indian Air Force pilots. The movie has already generated considerable buzz, with strong advance bookings.
Sky Force tells the untold story of India’s first and deadliest airstrike during the 1965 India-Pakistan War. Veer Pahariya makes his acting debut as IAF officer T. Vijaya, who goes missing in action, while Akshay Kumar plays his fellow officer, KO Ahuja, who sets out on a mission to find him.
Sky Force 1st Day Advance Booking
According to Industry tracker Scanilk Sky Force’s first-day advance booking touched Rs 2.03 crore across India. The Hindi 2D format earned Rs 1.95 crore from 82,110 tickets sold, with an average ticket price (ATP) of Rs 223, across 10,868 shows.
The Hindi IMAX 2D format contributed Rs 7.44 lakh, with 2,036 tickets sold at an ATP of Rs 416, across 173 shows. The total gross for all formats combined was Rs 2.03 crore from 84,146 tickets sold across 11,041 shows.
CBFC clearance and certification
The action drama runs for 125 minutes, making it one of Akshay Kumar’s shortest films. The CBFC cleared it without cuts, giving it a U/A 13+ certification, with only the addition of Hindi and English disclaimers to ensure it’s family-friendly.
