It seems as if Sydney Sweeney cannot stay out of trouble. Be it her looks or her viral appearances, the Euphoria actress is everywhere. From teenage feeds to MAGA supporters, she shares a positive affiliation with the US government. With her recent movie, The Housemaid, scheduled for a January 2026 release, her promotional looks have gone viral. Serving looks in a shimmery gown to a marroon coloured dress on a talk show, the Internet cannot stop talking about her.

Her recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon‘s late-night talk show has the netizens divided. While some accuse her of leaning into her MAGA-fied image, others adore her topical look. Sweeney sported a mid-length satin bodycon dress which featured full sleeves and a high neck. Draped in an asymmetric form, it helped enhance the conventional 60s silhouette.

‘She looks a bit more Republican’

Calling out her blonde hair, netizens were concerned as to why her hairstyle looks like a news anchor’s. Questioning the look, a user wrote, “Is she auditioning for Fox News? Lol.” While another opined, “The bob is frying me.” However, some felt that the look was ‘too conservative’ given her usual personal style. They wrote, “She’s looking more conservative every day—what is going on with that bob?”

“Not the classic republican look,” wrote some fans in disbelief. Some even compared her to Trump-supporting voices such as Laura Loomer and Karoline Leavitt. “The Mar A Lago transition is almost complete,” added a user, while another associated the colour red with Republican and wrote, “the red really brings out her republicanism.”

Sydeney Sweeney under fire

Those who are even barely aware of Internet feuds would be familiar with the American Eagle ad that sparked a racist upheaval. Starring in the ad, Sydney Sweeney’s dialogue ‘I have great jeans’ was not received well. While US President Trump praised her, the Internet had another take on it as they accused the advert of glorifying racism. Months later, Sweeney opened up about the viral ad and shared that Trump praising her was a ‘surreal’ moment. Inviting further backlash, the response only added fuel to the controversial fire.
