Shah Rukh Khan on Sunday said that he won’t be able to meet and greet fans who had gathered outside his residence like every year on his 60th birthday. The announcement took many fans who had been waiting for their screen idol’s appearance since morning by surprise. Khan took to X to make the announcement. “Have been advised by authorities that I will not be able to step out and greet all you lovely people who have been waiting for me. My deepest apologies to all of you but have been informed that it is for the overall safety of everyone due to crowd control issues,” SRK posted. “Thank you for understanding and believe me… I will miss seeing you more than you will. Was looking forward to seeing you all and sharing love. Love u all…” his X post further read.

The veteran actor’s post drew a flood of sympathetic reactions from netizens who were concerned for their favourite actor’s safety and also for the people who had been standing and waiting in the heat the whole day.

“You can almost hear the silence in this message. The kind that follows disappointment, not anger. Fans waiting under lights, hearts full, and then these words arrive. Fame looks like power, but sometimes it’s just restraint for safety. Still, love finds its way even through,” a user posted on X.

In their reaction to the announcement, fans also offered praise for the teaser reveal of SRK’s upcoming film titled ‘King’.

“So sad to hear this but your safety is the most important thing, enjoy your birthday and stay safe. Thank you for such a great gift to us on this special day, absolutely loved the title reveal “
