December is here, and once again audiences are in for a ‘filmy’ year-end treat as the month promises a star-studded line-up of films. Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhuradhar is all set to kick off the year-end-release season, as it arrives on Friday, December 5. The film is already creating a lot of buzz, looking at its pre-bookings.
The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, is special in many ways. First, it marks Ranveer’s comeback after a two-year gap. Second, it’s one of the lengthiest movies made in recent times, with a run-time of 3 hours 32 minutes. For the uninitiated, Dhurandhar is split into two parts with the second part releasing in May next year.
While Dhurandhar looks all set to storm the box office, its release may not be as perfect as it seems, and may have hit a roadblock. Parents of Major Mohit Sharma have urged for a stay on the film’s release, saying the movie is based on their son’s life, with makers failing to seek their permission for the same. In their petition, they have stated that the unauthorised portrayal violates the martyr’s posthumous personality rights along with the family’s own right to privacy and dignity. However, Dhar, earlier on social media, denied the movie is inspired from Major Sharma’s life.
Has the advance booking started for Dhurandhar?
The advance booking for Ranveer Singh’s movie has begun in select PVR-INOX properties across major cities, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. However, fans are still awaiting the full-fledged opening of advance booking windows. Considering the buzz, the film will have a high demand for tickets.
