Superstar Rajinikanth is on a week-long spiritual retreat to the Himalayas, and his first stop was Rishikesh. Fans couldn’t contain their excitement after spotting the actor in the serene hill town and took pictures. As expected, the pictures have been doing the rounds on social media, and people are head over heels over his simple lifestyle.

The actor went to the city in Uttarakhand with his friends and is said to have taken this spiritual break amid his demanding work schedule. The veteran actor visited Swami Dayananda Ashram in Rishikesh, where he paid homage to Swami Dayananda Saraswati. During his visit, he also meditated along the banks of the Ganga and joined devotees during the Ganga Aarti.

After completing his visit to Rishikesh, the “Coolie” actor is said to have travelled to Dwarahat to continue his spiritual sojourn.

Rajinikanth’s viral pictures

In one of them, Rajinikanth, dressed in a white dhoti and shirt, is seen eating food served on a leaf plate placed on a stone surface near a hilly roadside. A car can be seen parked beside him.

Another photo shows him interacting with a group of people, while yet another shows him standing with a priest, seemingly offering prayers.

Rajinikanth was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action-drama Coolie, which released on August 14. The film also featured Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan in key roles.

How did social media users react to these pictures?

“In a state where Hindu bashing seems a fashion for certain actors, we have a Superstar, simple, humble and real, proudly flaunting his devotion and following the path of Sanatana Dharma. Super Thalaiva,” said one social media user.

Another added, “He is lucky. Very few people make tons of money in the material world and then go onto evolve in the karmic and spiritual side as well. He is doing both! Hats off to him. His soul will be in some higher realms, or at least in an even better rebirth path if it is still in this realm, when he takes his next janma.”

“God’s own son,” commented a third.

Rajinikanth has not posted anything about his spiritual break on social media. His last post on X (formerly Twitter) is about the Karur stampede that occurred during actor-turned-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) rally.

“The news of the loss of innocent lives in the incident that occurred in Karur shakes the heart and causes immense grief. My deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. Comfort to those who were injured,” read the post when translated to English from Tamil.
