Padmaavat box office collection:  Amidst widespread protest Padmaavat hit theatres on January 25. In the domestic box office though the Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum opus was affected with the ongoing Karni Sena protests across the country, in the overseas market, Padmaavat clocked a huge sum. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the grand collection that the foreign box office is witnessing. Adarsh wrote, ”And the audience verdict is crystal clear… #Padmaavat is on a RECORD-SMASHING SPREE in key international markets… The growth on Fri [vis-à-vis Thu] is PHENOMENAL… Day-wise data follows: Australia, New Zealand, UK and Germany…” According to the UK box office, Padmaavat has made £ 259,352, which is equivalent to Rs 2.34 cr. In the Germany Padmaavat has so far earned € 66,364 which is equivalent to Rs 52.45 lakh. In Australia Padmaavat has made A$ 901,503 which is equivalent to Rs 76.10 lakh.

Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh starrer received an overwhelming response in spite of protests and violence in some parts of the country. But the good news is that film has now doubled its day 2 box office collection and has added Rs 32 cr. The film has crossed Rs 50 cr mark on day 2 in the domestic market. The film, on the other hand, has received decent reviews from the critics and the word of mouth verdict too may affect the collections in the coming days. The film has been getting mixed reviews but the curiosity of people around the film has got them thronging the theatres in huge numbers. Coming days are crucial for the film since this will decide its fate. The Karni Sena outrage has gone nowhere and in such a circumstance the collections in the upcoming days still remain a challenge for the makers.
