On the occasion of legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra’s birthday, the Deol family is planning a birthday tribute for their beloved patriarch. Dharmendra who passed away on November 24 2025, was mere days away from celebrating his 90th birthday on December 8. Now, his sons Bobby and Sunny Deol have decided to celebrate his life and legacy by opening the doors to the actor’s iconic Khandala farmhouse to the public.

Dharmendra largely spent his time at the farmhouse towards the latter part of his life. With it’s privacy, connection to nature and modern amenities, Dharmendra’s farmhouse was a retreat for the actor who wanted a peaceful and quiet life – away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai city.

Honouring Dharmendra’s legacy

Sunny and Bobby Deol decided to commemorate the day by inviting fans of their father into his innermost space, and remembering his immense cinematic legacy as well as his contributions to Indian film. The brothers reportedly decided on this course of action after they learned that many fans had desperately wished to meet Dharmendra one last time as per Hindustan Times.

The Deols will gather at the Khandala farmhouse and greet admirers who wish to pay their respects there. The event will be kept simple and accessible rather than an official fan meet. This intimate gathering follows a series of prayer meets and ceremonies held in the actor’s honour by his family.

Dharmendra’s iconic farmhouse is a rustic yet modern abode situated on a 100-acre organic farmhouse. Dotted with trees and tilled soil where the late actor actually cultivated crops owing to his farming roots, the farm was not only a safe space for the Deols but also the cattle which Dharmendra reared. The farmhouse is also equipped with a heated swimming pool where the actor frequently took water therapy and winding trails where he could be one with nature.

How to get to Dharmendra’s farmhouse in Khandala?

To facilitate travel, buses have been arranged for fans from Lonavala to Khandala. No prior registration or pass is required to attend the gathering and it will begin at 1 PM. The Deol family will be present to interact with attendees and speak to them about Dharmendra’s incredible career. Notably, media personnel have also been invited to cover the event according to Dainik Jagran.

Dharmendra’s death caused shock waves to reverberate through the industry. Known as the ‘He-man’ of Bollywood, his presence in Indian cinema for the past 6 decades had made him a pillar of the industry. Celebrities showed up in droves to attend his final rites at the Ville Parle crematorium to pay their respects; with many looking despondent and devastated.
