Imagine this scenario – a single murder, numerous suspects, and the classic intrigue of a whodunit. Taking place in the esteemed Royal Delhi Club, the trailer for “Murder Mubarak” follows the journey of ACP Bhavani Singh (portrayed by Pankaj Tripathi) as he endeavors to unravel a perplexing murder mystery.
Notably, suspects in this thrilling tale include Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, and Tisca Chopra.
Each one, at some point, falls under suspicion, yet none show any signs of remorse. Pankaj Tripathi faces the daunting task of untangling this web of deceit, promising viewers a suspenseful ride. The film also features Suhail Nayyar.
As the trailer concludes, Pankaj Tripathi ominously warns that the most dangerous trait of a murderer could be their outward ordinariness.
At the trailer launch event, Sara Ali Khan expressed her excitement about stepping into a new genre, stating, “It’s a genre I’ve never done before, and that was a huge draw to it. I admire Homi sir’s work; it’s not just the story, but how he tells it.”
“It’s about the elite club through a Delhi middle-class lens. It’s been a while since I’ve played urban modern, glamorous character, which is different from my usual style. It’s showing a new side of me,” Sara added.
Based on Anuja Chauhan’s novel Club You To Death, “Murder Mubarak” is directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.
This marks Adajania’s sixth directorial venture following the critically acclaimed “Angrezi Medium” (2020).
