On Wednesday, rumours circulated that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actors Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat had secretly become engaged, causing a stir on the internet. According to reports, the co-stars allegedly exchanged rings in a private ceremony in Vadodara, attended by their families. However, both actors have now refuted these rumours, asserting that there is no truth to the speculation.
Speaking to ETimes, Munmun labeled the news as “ridiculous, fake, and ludicrous.” She emphasized that the rumour was entirely concocted and expressed her reluctance to invest further energy in this “false narrative.”
Raj also addressed the reports and posted a statement on his Instagram stories, stating, “Hello Everyone, Just to clear things up, the news you’ve been seeing on social media is false and baseless. Team Raj Anadkat.”
The widely circulated report throughout the day suggested that Munmum and Raj had been in a relationship for several years. When similar rumors emerged in 2021, both Munmum and Raj refuted them through their social media posts.
In response to the situation, Raj expressed his frustration, stating, “To everyone who has been constantly writing about me, THINK of the repercussions that can happen in my life because of your ‘COOKED UP’ (false) stories about my life without my consent. All the creative people out there, please channelize your creativity somewhere else; it will be helpful to you. May God bless them with good sense.”
Munmum perceived this as an attack on her dignity and wrote, “To the general public, I had far better expectations from you. But the filth that you have showered in the comment section, even from the so-called ‘Literate’ ones, proves how regressive society we are. Women are constantly AGE SHAMED, SLUT SHAMED, MOM SHAMED, at the cost of your humor. Whether your humor drives someone to the edge of a mental breakdown or not is never your concern. Thirteen years of entertaining people, and it didn’t take thirteen minutes for any of you to RIP MY DIGNITY APART.”
Raj, known for portraying Tappu (Jethalal’s son) on the show, left the television series in 2022.
