Mirai Box Office Collection Day 4: Karthik Gattamneni’s action-fantasy film Mirai, starring Hanu Man actor Teja Sajja, has passed its first big test at the box office. Despite the usual Monday slowdown, the film has managed to cross the crucial Rs 50 crore mark in India within just four days of release.

After a strong opening weekend, Mirai collected Rs 6 crore on its first Monday, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 50.6 crore. While this was a drop from Sunday’s earnings of Rs 16.6 crore, industry experts say the film has successfully ‘passed the Monday test,’ which often decides a film’s long-term run. The movie opened with Rs 13 crore on Friday, saw a rise to Rs 15 crore on Saturday, and then peaked on Sunday before the expected dip.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the Telugu version has contributed the largest share of earnings, followed by dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Interestingly, Mirai is already pacing ahead of Sajja’s breakout blockbuster Hanu Man by nearly Rs 2 crore at the same stage.

Mirai Worldwide Box Office Collection

On Monday, production house People Media Factory announced the film’s worldwide numbers, and the figures were even more impressive. Mirai earned Rs 27.2 crore globally on its opening day, followed by Rs 28.4 crore on Saturday and Rs 25.6 crore on Sunday. This brought the film’s three-day worldwide total to a record-breaking Rs 81.2 crore gross.

In a celebratory post on X (formerly Twitter), the makers wrote, “From South to North, from India to overseas, #MIRAI is rewriting history everywhere. Record-breaking Rs 81.2 Cr Gross Worldwide in just 3 DAYS for #BrahmandBlockbusterMirai. India’s most ambitious action-adventure is now the most celebrated film across the globe.”

Mirai pan-India release

Directed and written by Karthik Gattamneni, with dialogues by Manibabu Karanam, Mirai was released in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, and even Chinese. The Hindi version has been presented by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

The movie also has a strong star-studded cast with Manchu Manoj, Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, and Jayaram as leads. It is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner.

Teja Sajja on pan-India success of Mirai

Speaking about the film’s reception, Teja Sajja said the intention was never to make a formulaic pan-India project but to tell a rooted Telugu story. “The intention is never to try and crack the idea of how to cater to audiences across India. I’m making a film in Telugu with our sensibilities, and if that is being accepted and encouraged across India in other languages, it is more than a gift for us,” he told PTI.

The story of Mirai

Mirai tells the tale of Vedha (Teja Sajja), a young warrior destined to fight against dark forces. His nemesis, Mahabir Lama aka the Black Sword (Manchu Manoj), seeks nine mystical grandhas, ancient texts left behind by Emperor Ashoka, to gain unlimited power. To stop him, Vedha starts his journey to retrieve a divine weapon called Mirai, once wielded by Lord Ram.

Packed with action, visual spectacle, and fantasy-driven storytelling, Mirai has struck a chord with audiences. With strong early numbers and positive word of mouth, the film looks set to become another major success for both Teja Sajja and director Karthik Gattamneni.
