Popular Malayali actress Lena announced on Tuesday, February 27, her wedding to Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, one of the four astronauts who have been selected for India’s first human space flight mission, the Gaganyaan Mission. According to her Instagram post, she was waiting for the golden moment to reveal the marriage to her fans.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the names of four astronauts who will be carrying out the Gaganyaan Mission in 2025. Hours after the announcement, actress Lena took the cat out of the box and posted on Instagram saying, “It is a historic moment of pride for our Country, our state of Kerala and Me personally.”
The couple tied the knot on January 17 in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage system, according to Lena. The actor from ‘Sneham’ shared a photo of herself, Nair, and ISRO Chairman S Somanath. She expressed, “In order to maintain the officially required confidentiality, I was waiting for this announcement to let you know that I got married to Prasanth on 17 January, 2024 in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage.”
Nair’s family, hailing from Nenmara in Palakkad district, was not available for immediate comment.
Earlier, residents of Nenmara rejoiced as the Prime Minister disclosed the names of four astronauts, including Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. The other three astronauts are Group Captains Angad Pratap, Ajit Krishnan, and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla.
