Born on August 23, 1968, in Delhi, India, KK’s journey into music began after his education at Kirori Mal College, where he initially worked in marketing. His musical career took off in 1994 when he sent a demo tape to prominent Indian artists, leading to his first performances in commercial jingles. KK made his cinematic debut as a playback singer in 1996 with the song “Chhod Aaye Hum” from the movie Maachis.
KK’s versatility was a hallmark of his career. He recorded songs in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, and Gujarati. His breakout as a Hindi playback singer came in 1999 with “Tadap Tadap” from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, followed by the release of his acclaimed album Pal, which featured numerous hits.
Over three decades, KK became a household name, lending his voice to more than 500 Hindi songs and over 200 in various regional languages. His impressive repertoire included around 3,500 jingles across 11 languages, showcasing his extraordinary talent.
