Kesari Chapter 2, directed by the debutante Karan Singh Tyagi, and produced by Dharma Production, Leo Media Collective and Cape of Good Films, is doing well at the box office since its release. The period drama is getting good reviews from the critics.
The film earned significantly good on its first Sunday, Day 3, collecting roughly Rs 12.64 crore, as per a Sacnilk report. The film earned Rs 7.75 crore on its first day and Rs 9.75 crore on the second. These collections have given a good start to the film, reaching a total of Rs 30.21 crore within three days.
The movie is enjoying great occupancy in South India as compared to Hindi occupancy rate. Delhi NCR and Pune witnessed the lowest occupancy rate of 29.25% and 27.75% respectively. Whereas Chennai saw the occupancy rate of 56% and Bengaluru witnessed 43.25%.
The film revolves around the lawyer C. Sankaran Nair and Jallianwala Bagh in 1919. Akshay Kumar playing the lead role takes the movie forward along with actors Ananya Pandey and R. Madhavan.
The movie is getting great reviews for its depiction of the raw and emotional reality of the past. The powerful historic drama has successfully revealed the cruelty of colonial rule and hit the right nerve of the audience.
