Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa has finally stormed into cinemas! Released on June 27, 2025, this multi-lingual mythological action epic is off to a fiery start, unspooling simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and English.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and backed by veteran Mohan Babu, Kannappa draws from the legendary tale of the tribal hunter who offered his eyes to Lord Shiva in an act of ultimate devotion. But this is no quiet spiritual saga, think high-stakes action, lavish sets and an ensemble cast that’s making headlines.

Kannappa box office collection day 1 prediction: Will devotion pay dividends?

With the first day morning shows already in play, early trends suggest a promising but measured start. Hyderabad alone pulled in Rs 1.05 crore by Thursday evening, with national Day 1 advance bookings hitting Rs 4.53 crore, according to industry tracker CineDisco.

Factoring in walk-in audiences, industry insiders peg the global opening day gross at around Rs 13 crore. The film had premiere screenings overseas on June 26 and while multiplexes in metros will be key, eyes are also on Tier-2 cities and family audiences for that extra push.

Kannappa movie advance booking stats

Advance bookings for Kannappa have officially kicked off in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the United States. Touted as a pan-India spectacle featuring a blend of South and Bollywood stars, the mythological action drama is generating considerable buzz. In the Telugu-speaking regions, the film has opened to a solid response; over 27,000 tickets were snapped up in just 24 hours, according to BookMyShow data.

Across the US, however, the momentum has been more restrained. With bookings opening only yesterday — a relatively late start compared to the typical week-ahead window – Kannappa has managed $10.3K in advance sales from 263 locations, amounting to 486 tickets sold. This puts it at a disadvantage compared to Kuberaa, which had stronger early numbers.

Starry line-up with a pan-India punch

The film stars Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, with Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam and Preity Mukhundhan playing pivotal parts. But what’s sending fans into a frenzy? Cameos by Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal, yep, this is no ordinary devotional tale.

Shot against the stunning landscapes of New Zealand, the film began production in 2023 and boasts a top-tier technical crew: Sheldon Chau on cinematography, Anthony Gonsalvez on edits and music by Stephen Devassy. The team pulled out all stops, with Dolby Atmos sound design and high-end post-production at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad.
