The Dhurandhar wave has not only overtaken India but is shaking things up in Hollywood as well. Pop icon Nick Jonas, recently posted a video on his Instagram page where he was seen dancing with his siblings to a recent Bollywood hit number performed by Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza.

What made the video remarkable was that the track the Jonas brothers grooved to, was The Dhurandhar song Shararat. They immediately managed to break the internet with this unlikely collaboration. Fans went gaga over the video which was posted on Friday and the rest as we say, is history. It currently has over 15 million views after just nine hours of being up on Nick Jonas’ profile.

The American popstar, who helped kick start the Jonas Brothers group along with brothers Kevin and Joe has a strong connection to Bollywood through his wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas and is affectionately referred to as ‘Jiju’ by fans of the couple. He often posts tidbits of his personal life and behind the scenes moments from tours and shoots.

Notably he also often posts reels of the Jonas Brothers hitting the moves to trending songs but no one could have foreseen him and the other two Jonas brothers bopping to a song from India’s latest blockbuster.

Captioning the reel: “New pre show hype song unlocked” Nick, Joe and Kevin could be seen grooving backstage with infectious energy, effortlessly matching the beat as they hyped themselves up ahead of a show – much to the delight of fans across the globe.

Nick Jonas’s post prior to this one was about his favourite hype song before every show, which he revealed to be Aavan Jaavan from Hrithik Roshan-starrer War 2. Captioning the post “What a jam.” Nick could be seen enjoying the energetic track. Someone is clearly in their Bollywood feels.

Reactions to the reel

With over 835k likes and 5.5k comments, the reel officially attained viral status. Ranveer Singh reacting to the video, commented, “Hahahahahaah JIJUUUU JAAANE DEEEEEE 🎶 🕺 😍🤩💕❤️😂👌🏽” which in itself has 26.4k likes.

Comments ranged from people appreciating his moves to calls for the third Jonas brother to receive an Aadhar card to proclaiming him the ‘national jiju’. “Hey Jiju, can we get your pre show hype playlist please? 👉👈” commented the official page of Spotify India while another user commented, “Arrey jijuuuuu🔥🔥 jiju being chronically online is the best thing😂😂”

“Do you have your aadhar card?” commented a user playfully while another user commented, “Give this man an Aadhaar Card.. ” The light-hearted exchanges only added to the reel’s appeal, turning the comments section into a full-blown celebration of the unexpected cultural crossover.
